Located on the steep hills of Lake Maggiore, in Sopra Ceneri, the Cantine Stucky Hügin winery, owned and run by Jürg Hügin and based at the Cantina della Rocca in Vairano, is committed to a philosophy of tradition combined with pioneering work and the highest quality craftsmanship.

The mild Mediterranean climate of Ticino allows for the production of unique grapes. More specifically, it is the sun-drenched vineyards around Gudo and Vairano, with their light, sandy soils, where the red grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grow and thrive. while the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Completer provide an excellent basis for a rich, refined wine aged in barriques, and the Ticino Fiano grapes are used to produce a single-varietal Bianco.
All vineyards are cultivated according to strict ecological principles, taking biodiversity into account.

Under the leadership of Jürg Hügin, a permanent team of five employees takes care of the vineyards and wine production. Rigorous yield reduction and pruning in the vineyard, as well as manual harvesting, are fundamental requirements for the impressive quality of the fine wines from the Cantine Stucky-Hügin winery. The Ticino wines are also given the peace they need. The top wines of the highest quality are matured in new French oak barriques using the mash fermentation method, where they are allowed to age for up to 18 months.

Cantine Stucky-Hügin regularly hosts tastings with a tour of the vineyard and cellar. When the weather is nice, tastings take place under the pergola with a view of Lake Maggiore. In case of bad weather, a Ticino rustica in the middle of the vineyard is available. Local specialties can also be served with the wine upon request.
