We welcome wine-loving guests for wine tasting and a tour of our vineyards and cellar. Tastings are by appointment Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and/or between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, tastings are available between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We do not offer tastings on Saturday afternoons or Sundays.
When the weather is nice, tastings take place under the pergola above the wine cellar. In case of bad weather, a Ticino rustica in the middle of the vineyard is available, accessible via a staircase (good shoes are recommended).
We welcome you and your guests to the Cantina della Rocca in Vairano with a glass of Rosato and tell you about the history of the winery and how it operates today, followed by a guided tour of the winery and the Cantina led by the winemaker. This is followed by a tasting of all seven of our wines, two white and four red, with one tasting glass per person. To finish, we offer our grappa. Wines can be purchased directly from the cantina or ordered. We charge the actual costs for the tasting as follows:
- CHF 240.00 for a group of up to 4 people
- CHF 50.00 per person for a group of 5–6 people
- CHF 45.00 per person for a group of 7–12 people
- CHF 40.00 per person for a group of 13 or more people
If you place an order for wine, 10% of the value of the wines currently available can be deducted from the tasting fee. For orders of complete boxes of six bottles with a value of CHF 480.00 or more, we deliver the wines free of charge throughout Switzerland. Payment can be made on site in cash, via Twint, or by debit or credit card. We recommend accompanying the tasting with a Ticino platter of salami, dried meat, cheese, grissini, and bread. We charge CHF 25.00 per person for the Ticino platter.
You can also visit us at the Cantina della Rocca with the boat shuttle service from Locarno or Ascona, where we will pick you up at the harbor. From the Pier in San Nazzaro, it is a short walk to the winery or you can take our shuttle bus. We charge CHF 150.00 per trip (CHF 300.00 return), maximum 8 people (for larger groups we will make multiple trips).
